This is a great infographic depicting employee motivation! In the modern workplace where employees work overtime and go above and beyond, recognition from managers is essential for motivation. It provides a sense of accomplishment and makes employees feel valued at work. Additionally, the act of recognition also sets the desired culture of the organisation by sending messages to other employees about what success looks like. The most effective recognition is honest, authentic and personal. It shouldn't have to be a grand gesture and you shouldn't have to leave it to customers and the annual performance review period to provide feedback. Something as simple as a 'thank you' goes a long way!

🎉 Thrilled to Complete My Rotation as a HR Business Partner! 🎉 Over the last 12 months in HR Operations, I embarked on a whirlwind rotation as a HRBP, travelling across Queensland and the Northern Territory to engage with stakeholders and set our people up for success. Each experience presented it's own unique challenges, all of which have shaped me for the better. I'm grateful for the support of my incredible colleagues in HR and everyone I've worked with on the grounds across the regions who have generously taken me under their wing to help me navigate through the complexities of HR Ops!🚀 Now onto my next grad rotation with the Employee Experience team!

✨ Grateful for my first Mentor Walk experience ✨ It's so amazing how an hour walk and talk around the Brisbane Botanic Gardens on a Friday morning can leave you feeling so inspired and energised! To have conversations with phenomenal mentors and fellow mentees around embracing new challenges, breaking gender barriers in male-dominated industries and overcoming imposter syndrome was nothing short of empowering.#empowerment #mentorship

I had an incredible few days last week at the Australian HR Institute (AHRI) National Convention! ✨ Day One started off with a bang with Keith Ferrazzi who challenged the social contract of teamship by suggesting the premise of "co-elevation" where teams rise together rather than focussing on gaining "buy-in". With my fellow Hastings Deering HR Grads Angelique & Kurt, we ended the day on the pinball machines at AHRI's 80 Year Celebration 🎶 I resonated with Lucy Adams' incredible keynote on Day Two about redefining HR paradigms from a Parent-Child employment relationship to a progressive Adult-Adult alliance based on autonomy and trust. There was a collective "aha moment" in the crowd when Lucy suggested we move away from designing policies for the lowest common denominator and instead, focus on treating employees like adults. It was a privilege listening to some of Australia's brightest in HR! 🌟 Very grateful for the opportunity and excited for the next! #ahrievents
